Can I give negative stars? For the first time in my life I must say avoid this place!!! Pho came out not hot but not cold either, it was definitely in the "danger zone"! Unisex Bathroom was stagnant with backed up urine and in the male urinal was a floating roach. On my way back to the pay the bill I looked down at the floor And More Roaches scurrying away from under my feet. I feel bad reviewing this place, but I really want to spare people the horror. This place was super busy at lunch??? And their spring rolls really rocked but God knows what was in them? Please clean this place up. Will not repeat!!!

Used a Groupon certificate. It was worth every penny. Food was surprisingly good, and service was friendly.

Not as good as Pho Hoa, but there are some items on this menu that you can't get over there. If I were solely rating one thing on the menu (the grilled squid/shrimp/beef assortment with rice paper wrappers...it's somewhere listed under the hot pots), I'd rate it a FIVE though. It's cooked so perfectly and the seasonings are so good. You add rice vermicelli and vegetables and roll them up in a stack of rice paper that you wet yourself...and dip in the fish sauce. It's enough for 2-3 people, so it's a great deal...and so healthy too. I also love when they play the Vietnamese music videos on the big-screen TV while you eat. However, I think they dubbed them somehow while they were also playing video games, so some of the video game noises sometimes leak into the recordings. Either that, or a kid is playing video games in the back. Which could also be the case, seeing as on weekends a little girl is hanging out there playing quietly on her own (one of the workers' daughters).

Great vietnamese food! :) the decor is pretty simple, clean, asian restaurant, with pleasant servers a great app to try - Chicken salad. it's this cabbage based slaw. (No mayo), asian with a limey viet sauce to it, with the freshness of all the julienned veggies and fresh chicken, it's a great healthy starter to wet your appetite. - egg rolls. mmm! great! and served with lettuce to roll it in, and dip it in the nuoc mam/viet dipping sauce. the meal - the best is: Bo Luc Lac (Shaken filet mignon). great! Chunks of filet, sauted and served with fried rice. its a great dish, that all my friends enjoy, and often crave. - This place has got a decent bowl of Pho. (2nd best in so flo for my tastebuds) - the bun rieu is pretty good as well, 4/5 for me! - suon thit kho - pork spare ribs in a caramel sauce. the first time i had it here, it was like my mama made it! And the 2nd time, it was a bit dry... but other than that... it's usually the great home-style cookin' that any asian kid could crave! - Ca Canh Chau - catfish with "sour soup", it comes in a huge hot pot. with boiled catfish, tomato slices, okra and beansprouts... its great! (and is paired VERY nicely with the either the one above this and the one below this) - ca kho tho - catfish in a claypot with caramel sauce. similar in cause to the suon thit kho earlier. but it's with catfish. and the many times i've gotten it, it has not been fishy in the least, and the catfish haters, can be rest assured this ones yummy. :) **Be sure to check out the SPECIALS menu! It's a white board that is above the cashier area. and they have some good eats up on that board! That aren't in the regular menu**

I heard this place shut down??? Someone tell me it isn't so! I liked it! Some of it was pricier but not UNexpected! If it's open (TELL ME!) I must go back before I leave the States!!!! =P I love their vermicelli and my coworker loved their soup dishes (she's vegetarian and they are VERY accommodating) Also, 3 colors here VERY GOOD! Mm... I want Viet food now!!! =P

Nothing too special about this place, its decent food and its relatively cheap.

Based on my girlfriend's recommendation, I got the sugarcane shrimp. It came with rice paper wraps, rice noodles, and some vegetables. I am a total newb at wrapping rice paper so it was rather messy but very delicious. Also, the bubble tea we ordered was very tasty. I would say the food was excellent, the service was good, and the atmosphere was fair.

The best Pho I've ever had. I'm been to many cities in search of the best Pho, and Saigon City in Ft Lauderdale cannot be beat. The broth is so flavorful, meat sliced perfectly thin, and noodle the right size-not too thin and not too thick.

Great and friendly service. I wanted to like it! We ordered a lemon grass chicken on vermicelli and house special Pho for our entrees. We would not order them again. It was a drive so we were disappointed.

I feel bad writing this review but my meal at Saigon City was one of the most disgusting experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. The whole place smells like a dirty gas station bathroom and I half expected to see wet toilet paper stuck to the floor. All the food tasted like the place smelled: like a weird dirty public toilet. I was genuinely shocked that none of our party got food poisoning. I would not go here again if you paid me.

I solely created a yelp account, to warn people about this place. If you don't mind dirty dishes , bad service, cold food, bugs in your food, then this is the place for you, first and last time to this poor excuse to the title of restaurant.

I'm a regular reader of Yelp reviews, but I must admit that I rarely write reviews myself. This restaurant, however, has prompted me to write a review, if only so that I can prevent somebody else from having such a seriously bad meal as the one I just had. I can't even begin to enumerate all that went wrong here, so I'll just touch upon the basics: dirty glasses, cold food, TERRIBLE service, lackluster flavors, and the kicker- a bug swimming in my friend's plate. Take my advice: take your palate- and your wallet- elsewhere.

Service: poor, 2 young guys running the place and the waiter who took our order didn't bother writing it down. Well, for an order for a party of 6 something was bound to go wrong and it did. My 7 year old cousin waited over 25 minutes for a bowl of pho, the easiest dish to make. A thai ice tea was forgotten and the bun bo hue was missing a key ingredient, which we were later told they didn't have. Water was never refilled, napkins not replenished even after being asked. Food: eh! I definitely had better, resulted to this place because we had to wait for roast duck down the complex and didn't want to travel far. Definitely won't be coming back. I think my mom would rather slave hours in the kitchen to make her home famous bun bo hue than have it again here.

Great food. Only had Vietnamese once before but I can tell this place i a genuine one. Tasty fresh food, and healthy. Highly recommend the spring rolls (not to be confused with the chinesse fried ones); happy pancake is also very interesting and tasty (again do not think of a tipical pancake). My best and very filling dish is the shrimp coocked on sugar cane and hangel hair rolls.

The Pho here is very good and you can't take that away from them. Unfortunately the day we were there the service wasn't very good. It was not very crowded just 2 other tables were occupied, the waiter was abrupt and surly. Pho came out hot & delicious. I asked for a container to take the rest of my Pho home, I couldn't finish it. The waiter wasn't happy about bringing a container and showed it. I left to pick up some groceries in the mall and my husband stayed to pay the bill. My husband said they told him the charge machine didn't work so he had to pay the $40 bill in cash. He didn't see what I had seen earlier, that they had given another table a hard time about the machine, but had to take the Credit card, since that table didn't have enough cash. The machine worked then. A little disappointed with that

This is *REAL* Vietnamese food. Two of my Viet friends took me here and I had them order for me. I've never had pho before but it was good... and interesting. The pho portions are HUGE and best if shared. We also tried the shrimp spring rolls were were also ginormous and really tasty. Come with a great appetite and an open mind to try something new and different from a different culture. Staff was friendly and the restaurant while small/quaint was clean and inviting. Would definitely return to have another Vietnamese food 'adventure'!

Before I start I have to admit a certain bias in that I don't think I've ever had a really good Vietnamese dining experience, or at least one that I've really enjoyed. That may be because my Vietnamese dining got off to a rather bad start being right smack in the middle of a war zone under a cloud of stinky foul smelling napalm, gun power, noisy bombs, kerosene residues from overhead jet fighters, the possibility of the vegetables being Agent Orange laced and the sounds of those deafening 105 howitzers going off everywhere; anything but conducive to an elegant dining experience; just a horrid environment for a little gourmand like me let alone for the people that actually had to live there. However, I think I've recovered from that, have had Vietnamese food in other locations, most notably in France and enough good experiences to be impartial and now unimpaired in my opinions. I only ended up at Saigon City because I was hungry, desperate for a bite to eat and one of my favorite Chinese dining hangs, Silver Pond, located next door closed. The restaurant itself doesn't look all that inviting from the outside with typical South Florida strip mall semi-failing appearance about it and not much for décor in the inside either, rather dated, tired looking with yellowing plastic menu covers. However, the menu is really one of the most comprehensive as complete as I've ever come across. I asked my waiter, who was most accommodating, for his recommendations and ended up ordering soft paper wrapped shrimp spring roll, a pho tai sliced rare beef noodle soup and a shrimp lemon grass dish along with his recommended pairing of a "33" beer, being one with which any American soldier of the Vietnam era would be familiar. The spring roll was original Vietnamese in that it was unenhanced by any French influences with the paper wrap soft, served cold, and accompanied by what I would discern to be a dipping sauce having distinctive "nam pla" fermented fish flavors; good but nothing superlative. The sliced rare beef noodle soup was, on the other hand, rather outstanding both in taste, flavor and most certainly in size, being a huge serving. The meat slices were nicely sliced, rare, and completely trimmed of any fats giving the soup a clean greaseless pleasantly flavored taste. Indeed, as far as these basic Vietnamese street or pho type soups, a real winner, authentic and one of the best I've had. As for my shrimp with lemon grass accompanied by rice went, kind of blah, to me lacking in the delicate bindings of lemon grass and shrimp flavors and absent what should have been a certain discernable freshness.

This was actually the first place I ever had pho, so Saigon City is rather close to my heart. The restaurant itself is not very large, but there is usually space if you're trying to come in and eat dinner. I usually always got the pho, but I have also tried their banh mi and their spring rolls as well -- all excellent. The pho has long since been my favorite and I haven't had any since that has really replicated or competed with the taste of the pho at Saigon City. It was haul to get there, but it was always worth it.

The food was pretty good, we had a roll, salted shrimp and the vietnamese sandwich, which was mostly bread, and little filling, it was not a balanced ratio. Unfortunately we had to wait a long time for a shake that we ordered, (it was brought to in the middle of our meal, and also we waited almost 30 minutes for our last dish. Im guessing someone forgot to order it or it may have been overlooked, and I know it happens sometimes and the server did apologize. But other than that the service was pretty good and he was nice. I would probably return.

The place offered an ambiance with soft lighting and lousy Vietnamese music playing in the background. The bathroom is very clean. Our waiter was very helpful with answering all my questions. I ordered the pho here and I can describe it in one word...SWEET. It was a decent broth with MSG, because I got a MSG headache after returning to my hotel room. I am not a sweet broth person, but many ethnic Chinese and Cambodians in south Vietnam do prefer a sweeter broth. The broth was lukewarm: very disappointing. I had to doctor it with a lot of fish sauce to make it to my liking. The fried egg rolls was ok. It had a beef taste to it and the skin used isn't very good.

Before The Noodle House opened for business just the next plaza over, this place was our place for Pho. Their Pho used to be the best in Broward, in our opinion. But when the Noodle House came to the neighborhood they became the king of Pho, and our favorite Pho place. However, I think either the new owner took over The Noodle House, or they had changed the chef. And for that, I think the quality of Pho now is not what the way it used to be. Therefore, we decided to revisit our old favorite Pho place hoping to find a decent place to eat. We walked in and immediately we felt the new management had taken over. The decor has been changed a little, and all the waiters we used to see are not present anymore. We sat down and we don't get a glass of water like we used to, and we had to wait a few minutes for the menu to arrive our tables. The menu looked different too. I remember there used to be at least five or six different Pho options, but now there is just one. I decided to go ahead and try anyway. The only Pho option is their Pho special, which includes steak, tripe, meat balls. When my Pho arrived I knew its not going to be good. The tripe looked pathetic and dry, the color of the steak looked not fresh, and there was a funny smell on the meat balls. The soup base was way too salty, and there wasn't enough Pho. Basically, its probably now the worse Pho in the entire Broward county. In the end I don't think we are going back anymore. Not to mention I got a little sick 20 minutes later (I'll spare you with the details...LOL)! I hate to say it, but it looks like we may have to go back to Savanna M's favorite Pho place on Sterling in Davie!

First thing you need to know: this place is now closed on Thursdays - as my dad and his gf found out last Thursday after driving specifically here. My father's gf is Vietnamese and is a great cook, however there are some dishes that are just too time consuming for her and we came here specifically for one of them - #206 Pan Fried Flour Cake with Eggs. Our usual Vietnamese place closer to the house doesn't serve it and she had a craving. Bad news, they were out of it last night, so we pretty much drove her for nothing which was upsetting. The service here was pretty good, they kept my water glass full and the food came out quickly. The ambiance is nice and the place doesn't feel dirty in any ways. In fact on the whole this place is MUCH nicer than our regular spot, however when it comes to pho I prefer our usual. We started off with the Rare Lemon Beef Salad - #11B. Yes this is chunks of raw steak with some onions, very tasty but not for the faint at heart. I ordered my usual pho (what better way to judge a place) - the Sliced Rare Beef Noodle Soup. It was decent, but not the best. The accompanying vegetables on the side were lacking compared to what I'm used to. My father ordered his go-to - Hue Beef Soup. He also didn't think it was as good as his usual. Steven C. ordered one of the chef's special dishes - #208 Duck with Egg Noodle. His was excellent - nice, crispy, thin noodles with a flavorful duck broth. His one complaint was eating the duck and having to spit out the bones, but I would have happily eaten this soup even with the bones in the way. Since the #206 wasn't available my father's gf ordered the #199 - Happy Pancake. Apparently this wasn't up to her standards as she wanted bigger shrimp and pork belly instead of chicken, so Steven C. and I ended up eating most of this. It was good in my books, but I'll trust her authentic opinion. She went ahead and ordered another dish which was a seafood soup (not sure of the #) but she seemed happier with that. Overall I think Saigon City is an okay place, and they get extra stars from me in the service and ambiance categories. However, this won't be my first or second place for pho. The good news is that my father's gf has decided she'll give in and just cook this flour cake she's looking for, so I'll get a nice free meal out that lol.

Not one but two ladies that did my nails suggested this place and I knew it was legit. Vietnamese nail shop ladies usually know their Pho places.I only get the beef stew noodle soup here, which is YUMMY and the Bun Rieu which is eh. I gave up pork, so I can actually eat it at this place since they only do the eggs and crab meat..However, if I were still a pork fan I would be so disappointed since the pork balls were my favorite part about that soup! My boyfriend gets the duck noodle soup here all the time, but got the pho for the first time last weekend and it was good. All in all, this place satisfies my noodle soup cravings!

This is the best pho i've ever had!!!!!!!! in case you didn't read the first 8 words of my post i'll post it again. This is the best pho i've ever had!!!!!!!! The broth is a bit sweet compared to other places, but i don't mind. I might get diabetes one day, but until that day I don't mind. My girlfriend loves the mi xao don (crispy fried noodles). it's topped with seafood and vegetables. I love how the noodles are crispy even though there's a sauce and food over it. love, Bao Eat on my friends!

Second day in a row for some Pho, Bro This is true. I had some Pho on Thursday and I forgot how much I missed Vietnamese cuisine that I went to a different Restaurant and ordered the exact same thing... vegetable and pork spring roll and Chicken Pho. This ambiance of this Restaurant was better than the restaurant I ate at yesterday. It was cleaner and more modern looking. The food tasted pretty much the same, but the service was alittle more friendlier. When I ordered the spring rolls the server said that there was pig skin with the pork and he didn't know if I knew that. I didn't know that and I thanked him for the heads up. I like personal attention like that from a server. Overall everything was pretty good. Remember to tell the Dan sent you and Stay Hungry!

Best Pho place in S. FL hands down. I love the pho broth here because there's a prefect combo of fat & spice. The portions are decent size for the price. I deducted 1 star because they close super early on Sundays!

I love Thai, Japanese, and Chinese food but I haven't had Vietnamese food in 2 years. Why? Because I thought it was awful every time I had it. My mind was changed thisafternoon after going to Saigon City with a few regulars (and by regulars i mean 2-3 times a week). The entire drive there the discussion was about the excitement for the Pho. I figured i'd give it a shot but definitely wasnt thrilled about going. I am a new person. The pho was UNBELIEVABLE. Perfect temperature so the thinly sliced beef cooked quickly. The basil and flavors were rich and just right. Yum Yum Yum. We also ordered a side of their pork. Im not sure what flavor it was because we didnt actually look at the menu (i mentioned we were with regulars!) but it was amazing as well. My trip to Saigon City has put Vietnamese back on my lists of food. I can't wait to go back.

For those inclined to not only supporting but also indulging in different oriental cultures, curiosity might have steered you towards Vietnamese cuisine... Saigon City is a must visit. With traditional meals, satisfying all taste buds, Saigon City is sure to please. Their Special Beef Noodle Pho is highly recommended. Only reason I gave this place a 4 star rating is because their service could use a little more improvement, otherwise the food is great. Thanks to Neesa D for discovering this gem for me... That's Love...

Dismayed and suicidal after discovering Pho Hoa was closed due to a gas shutoff in the area, I happened to find this Vietnamese alternative only a few blocks away using my nifty iPhone Yelp App. The place looks great, especially for a Vietnamese restaurant! At first I thought the prices would be through the roof but they were actually the same as Pho Hoa. Nice. Too bad the food sucked. I mean, it was good, but it didn't taste like ANY Vietnamese I've ever had. The broth for the Pho was sweet and really oily. Totally caught me off guard. Also, the waiter didn't ask us what drinks we wanted or even bother to serve basil, cilantro, OR sprouts with our pho - guess he thought I was gringo through and through. Little did he know I was a little Vietnamese woman in my former life. Did I mention it took forever to get a check in a restaurant with only two tables occupied? Little Vietnamese Woman Rejected!

I am giving this review manly on food since that comes first IMO. Very authentic Vietnamese and I am a Vietnamese snob at this point. We had 2 dishes and bubble tea. The Seafood and Egg noodle soup is AMAZING and so full of flavor I was floored. The squid looked so beautiful in there I did not want to touch it. Seafood soup has scallops, squid and good size shrimp that is packed with spices and sprouts, greens. I was pretty bummed I didn't order that and got the Lemongrass chicken. The chicken was tasty and good but a little on the dry side but that might be how the dish is supposed to be and hey, chicken cutlets to tend to dry out that thin. The spice and flavor was just right. The honeydew bubble tea was very tasty, I was hoping for it to not be frozen and just a clear tea like I am used to but not so much, still good but way to much to eat and drink that together. Good for a dessert if you have room. Last but not least the Vietnamese Tea was gulped down in a second. We were the only table in there, makes me wonder if they are able to stick it out if nobody goes there. My complaints are the owner (female) and her staff were watching TV and her kids were running around and being pretty loud. The service was not the best, not that they were rude, very nice but just not attentive. This is a place I would go back to for the soup alone but would get it to go from now on. Also think they could stand to clean more.

There ar e a few Vietnamese places in here in South Florida, however this happens to be my favorite. The pho is excellent, the best in the area. If its not the Pho, then I love the fish in hot pot, number 77 on the menu. Its piece of fish cooked in a sweet and peppery sauce.. something I have to get everytime I go. As for the Pho, the base is perfect everytime.. in taste, color, and temperature. The meats are fresh...and dont have that frozen taste and texture like some of the other places around the area. Its a bit of a drive for me, but worth it everytime.

tried pho and cha gio, banh mi thit nuong (off the white specials board) not the brightest sprouts...broth slightly off; i remember phuong nam having better broth thit nuong a little salty but darkly marinated, lot of meat, bread thinned out, pickled veggies not crisp enough, no mayo and missing jalapeno, but at least you don't have to go all the way to margate to get one $5

Always for an adventure, one Friday for lunch at work I made the decision to go outside my usual midday routine and have Vietnamese cuisine at Saigon City Café. Located just south of Commercial Blvd. on 441, Saigon City Café is one of many businesses within a strip mall that also houses other Asian restaurants. Unlike other modest and stripped down Asian eateries in the area, Saigon City Café along with its neighbors in this strip mall offer the closest version possible to achieving the real thing in the cuisine they serve. I must disclose that I haven't had much Vietnamese cuisine in my life. Embarrassingly so my last experience with Vietnamese was a few years back munching on some pseudo-pho at Stir Crazy. Let's just say I redeemed myself from such folly. I had real pho at Saigon City Café! The broth had a fresh and herby flavor with just enough kick thanks to some chili sauce I added to it. The rice noodles were as "al dente" as Asian noodles can get. The garnishes crisp - the basil, culantro, bean sprouts, and lime added extra depth to the flavors. In addition, there were some unidentifiable components to the soup itself, most likely some tripe or organ, that rounded everything out. The portion was huge! While all the noodles and niblets were gone, I left a substantial amount of broth leftover. Prior to slurping on my pho, I had ordered fried imperial rolls as an appetizer. There were good alright, but there was nothing all too unfamiliar about it, which is what I desired that day: a complete dining and cultural experience new to my world. However, dessert definitely proved to be the complete antithesis to my appetizer. I ordered a certain sweet "dessert beverage" with crushed ice and three layers of green, red, and orange tapioca-like, gelatinous-esque tidbits in condensed milk. Strange, but oddly refreshing! All in all an experience I would like to repeat by ordering some other items from the menu. All of this wouldn't have been possible had an acquaintance of mine not recommend me trying this place out as it's so close to my job. Visit his blog at southfloridakuishimbo on blogspot to learn more about "hidden" South Florida dining options and more.

Tasted like there was a huge spoonful of MSG in my Pho. Prices were high. Saved from a one star marking by the nice service. Everyone at our table felt like we had an MSG headache after eating here. And you can definitely taste the MSG in the broth. I am not afraid of eating MSG. In fact, I got to places I know use MSG. But there was too much used here. There are better Pho places in the area. Go there. This place seems to only be crowded because its near to the awesome Vietnamese Market a few doors down.

I like the Pho here and the beef rolls especially- you have to wet the rice paper and roll up your beef, herbs, hoisin, and vermicelli. Very yummy and different than the same old Chinese food most people get on the weekend.

I haven't been to Saigon City for a couple of years and for good reasons, but when I saw a Groupon deal for Saigon City, I thought I'll give it another try. Well, not much has changed and I have to say, it's gotten worse. My friend and I order two sodas in addition to our bowls of pho. After wiping the soda can tops, our napkins was black and greasy. They need present clean products to the customers. The basil for our pho had big brown spots, almost to the point of rotting. I had to ask for some fresh basil. How can not see the brown spots on the leaves before they served it to us. The 2 young male waiters' attention were on their smart phones, either texting or playing games. Couldn't get their attention unless we called to them. Never once did they come by to see how we were doing or give us more water. To the owner of this establishment, that's just plain and simple poor customer service. Attention should be on your customers, not your smart phones. Customer service training is in needed. You may want to take some lessons from Noodle House, just a bit north of you...much better service and food.

I would say it is the best pho you can get here around Miami, even though its really really far just to get pho. But what can you do? You are in South Florida. O well it is slightly expensive but again, you are not in a place over populated with Vietnamese. It is as close to authentic as you can get.

Great comprehensive options, quick, inexpensive, and plenty of fun authentic dishes. If I'm driving down 441 looking for a place to eat, I consciously avoid signs and pleas from passengers to try something new so I can hit up Saigon City.

Asian food in South Florida is def lacking. The restaurants which are reviewed and rated good in Yelp usually do not tell an accurate story. I am from New York City and arguably the food mecca for the US. I believe I know good asian food. This place is tuck in a shopping mall and is hidden. I actually walked passed it a couple of times and did not notice it was there. Once in, a very typical asian type restaurant (asian music, asian staff and asian decor). Those all check and are good signs for an asian restaurant. Next is the clientele, Asians. Great! We ordered Pho and grilled pork chops. 2 typical dishes in Vietnamese cuisine. Wow, flavorful and seasoned well. Ingredients were very fresh and top notch. I judge a restaurant by its food and here they excel. The fluffs like music and decor really does not mean much to me. A plus was the service was excellent. Good asian restaurants usually have crap service. I would highly recommend this restaurant. It is affordable, use good quality ingredients and serve authentic food.

Stopped by for an early dinner last night. The egg rolls were great. I had the #26 which is the Chicken Noodle. The Pho was good, although the broth was a bit on the sweet side. Will definitely go back if I am ever in the neighborhood. Thank you Tien(I think that is how his name is spelled).

The best Pho in South FL. Their special beef pho is around $9 dollars and their soup base has the heaviest, tastes favor compare to other pho restaurant in S. FL What I loved the most is they open super early on Sunday. Instead of most of the Asian restaurant you have to wait until noon for lunch. You can come to this place and have a hot warm Pho at 10 in the morning.

I haven't been to this restaurant in some time. Had a friend who wanted to try Vietnamese and didn't want to have to drive to Miami so we headed here. Apparently, that was a mistake. The service was terrible. Which, I know, you expect from an authentic experience but the guy couldn't get our order straight. Kept sending us stuff we didn't order or running back to see if he had written it down right. Thought about trying to order in Spanish with him since he didn't seem to understand English. The food was bland, my lemongrass chicken was dry, my friend's grilled pork chop was minuscule and didn't look like it had been marinated and the pho was average looking with very dry chicken. Husband ordered squid and lemongrass which was actually excellent but was incredibly spicy. Unfortunately, he didn't get his actual entree until almost 30 minutes after the rest of the food had already been served. We kept waiving the waiter down who kept saying it was almost done. While the rest of us ate our dinners, poor husband was relegated to stealing food off our plates while he waited. So is this an authentic experience any longer? Well, let me just say that when I ordered the Pho Ga our waiter looked confused. Looked to where I pointed and said, "Oh, Chicken noodle soup." Yeahhhhh..... I am incredibly sad this was an introduction to Viet food for my friends. Viet is known for it's freshness and depth of flavor. Both of which were nonexistent at this establishment. I will not be returning till I hear owners have changed over again. Total bill for 3 apps, 4 entrees, 4 nonalcoholic drinks was $80 + tip.

without a doubt the best vietnamese restaurant i've ever eaten at & my favorite hole in the wall/hidden gem in south florida. i heard about this place from a friend who grew up near boston, which i think has the largest or one of the largest vietnamese populations in the u.s. everytime i've eaten here the clientele is predominantly asian so that speaks to the authenticity of saigon city. i could go on about this place ad nauseum, but i'll stop now & just list what i absolutely love. -sugarcane shrimp (my must have) -fish in the hot pot -happy pancake -the chicken salad & the beef salad (both are delicious) -three color drink (desert item) the imperial rolls are pretty standard, but they dont usually do it for me, at saigon city or elsewhere. most of the people i see eating here have the pho, which is really good, but i never opt for it because i love so many other items & since most places only have pho, i never get it here. the service is always good, but there does tend to be a bit of a language barrier with the servers so it would help to go with someone who is familiar with vietnamese food or very adventurous.

Pretty good pho. Not a lot of depth of flavor, but very good. A little expensive for what you get. Service was very good.

First time to eat at Saigon City, it was recommended by a friend and I thank her. Had the veggie spring roll with dipping sauce, tasty. Tried a bowl of chicken noodle sauce but asked for the kiddie bowl as the regular is just too much soup. It was delicious, even used the chopsticks except for the liquid part. Then came the lemongrass chicken with chili paste and it was just right. Nose was running and scalp was tingly. Scale of 1-10, I'd call it a 7. Do like my food spicy. Service was excellent. Bathroom clean. Do plan to return.

I have been here twice and both times my experience has been the same. Good Food, Nice Service. My only complaint is that I am never sure when my check is ready... So when you are done you go to the counter to pay. Dont sit around waiting for the check.. It isnt coming. :)

Clean friendly service and the food is always good, lots of locals at this place which gives me some authenticity as to the taste of the food! The place is very well done up and the ambiance is very nice. The Pho is always good and unlike others mine did not taste of MSG, the Vietnamese sandwiches are excellent and always a lunch time favorite though mostly sold out for dinner. We come here often and will continue to do so.
